Who said that you had to be a celebrity to be an expert and teach a Master Class online? Virtual Gurus have years often decades of experience and knowledge they’re ready to share.

You too can make an impart in a Community of Color by simply Donating your time, experience and expertise.

Together, we’re providing young people with the opportunities and tools they need to break the cycle of poverty — and changing the lives of entire communities along the way. When you become a part of our movement, you’re joining a compassionate team deeply committed to our mission.

As we grow, we are seeking talented people support our movement.

The Social Education for Economic Development Initiative is looking to work with you to provide free training and wealth building opportunities to 100,000 African Americans who are looking to improve their quality of life. With your support we can provide flexible affordable comprehensive training in:

  • General Learning
  • Employability
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Financial Literacy
  • Civic Education
  • Green Energy Jobs
  • Skilled Trade Apprenticeships
  • IT & Computer Technology
  • Agriculture & Horticulture
  • Sustainable Food

Work Location: Richmond, Virginia

As a Virtual Guru, you would provide a unique perspective on how to navigate the challenges and barriers that African American’s face while trying to improve their quality of life. Members can take action by volunteering their Time, Knowledge, Insight and Experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Schedule a time to be video recorded to share your knowledge and insight with those who need your expertise. The prerecorded videos will be added to our Knowledge Bank for our members to access during their S.E.E.D. Training.
  • Role: Share your knowledge, insight and expertise during a 1 - 2 hour interview, Discuss previous experience throughout your career that you will help others learn the best practices for navigating barriers and obstacles. 
  • Communication: Be clear and concise with your words; speak slow enough for listeners to follow. Storytelling is a powerful learning tool and  can help to put a finer point on things. Remember that language is not universal and your audience and take into account the diverse spectrum of learners you will be communicating to. 
  • Experience: Experience can be defined as vast and wide. Your proficiency in a skill or profession could provide invaluable insight on how to navigate the barriers and obstacles faced as a result of systemic racism. We are looking for individuals who have experience as:
      • Hiring managers
      • College professors
      • Accountants
      • Lawyers
      • Business professionals
      • Wealth managers
      • Historians
      • Economists

There are many more backgrounds not listed above (e.g. scientist) then please don't hesitate to contact us. Virtual Gurus have a wealth of knowledge to share and your experience and insight is greatly needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Work with the Chief Product Officer to iterate on our product vision and strategy. Clearly articulate the business value to the wider team so they understand the intent behind new products or features. Co-own the roadmap and prioritize building what matters most to achieve our strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Role: Help lead the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas. Foster creativity, out of the box thinking; promote soft skills and business professional etiquettes. Provide guidance drawing from your life experiences to give context and direction on life changing decisions.
  • Communication: Be an excellent active listener to hear what user needs are, and communicate the status of ideas, projects, and products to customers, partners, and internal team members.
  •  Experience: You may have never considered being a Mentor before or the impact it could have on someone's life. Having someone for guidance and counseling when you are looking for direction can make all the difference in the world. Making good decisions come from making informed decisions; when making life changing decisions you need good counsel.

  • Strategy: Fill the gap that traditional education leaves by breaking down complex and  comprehensive information presented in our programs to our members. Provide guidance and assistance when needed and always be open to all questions.  
  • Role: Facilitate Instructor led courses that lead to proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving skills. Foster creativity, out of the box thinking; promote soft skills and business professional etiquettes.  
  • Communication: Be an excellent active listener to hear what our members needs are, and communicate the viable solutions and pathways to reach their goals. 
  •  Experience: Preferred previous experience in education or higher learning but not required. Training experience can come in an array of subjects; we look to match trainers with the courses and job opportunities we offer. If one of those industries/field of sturdies reflect your background then you expertise is welcomed.
